History of O•N•E

In 1985, Ambassador Charles Stith established O•N•E as a non-profit, multi-racial civil rights organization based on the belief that a new generation of civic leadership was emerging in America that represented a "third wave" of the civil rights movement. Today, this new generation is working to create economic strategies that complement other political, social and legal efforts to promote equal opportunity for women and people of color.

In addition to running educational initiatives to arm the disenfranchised with valuable financial knowledge and skills, O•N•E advocates for economic equality and civil liberty in the corporate world. O•N•E has been an active leader in a variety of local economic issues, such as bank mergers and acquisitions, and the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA). O•N•E’s leaders have served on many committees including: Community Advisory Committee, Massachusetts Individual Development Account Solutions Collaborative and Massachusetts Community Banking Committee.
